The Top 10 Best Utility Cards in Urban Rivals

Gheist - Leviatonn
In the online card game Urban Rivals, you don't always need characters with the most complicated abilities to gain a significant advantage. Sometimes, the simplest utility cards with straightforward abilities like Stop Opponent Ability or Stop Opponent Bonus can make or break someone's game. The key here is to know which cards are poor, which ones are decent, and which ones are absolutely essential in your deck.

Newest Character: Aigwon Noel

Not many people know it but Aigwon loves to dress up! And beneath his thick skin lies a generous heart. Nothing pleases him more than giving gifts to the baby trees or failing that, to human children. So, he's taken two weeks’ vacation before Christmas to organize a lovely surprise for the students of the Skeelz Academy...

Review: This year annual Christmas character is derived from the Skeelz Aigwon and is called Aigwon Noel. Like its predecessor's Aigwon Noel's has a slightly different stats from it's original character where on this case it's ability is now "Courage: Stop Opponent's Bonus" which is very similar to the Rescue's leader Kerry and Montana's Edd.

In comparison to it's original character, Aigwon Noel's has a better chance beating cards with Stop Opp. Ability / Stop Opp. Bonus cards like Spycee, Deither and Glorg.

Tino's Crew - Montana Type 1 / ELO deck

Tino's Crew is a Type 1 Deck which is great for Daily Tournament plays and ELO game format. Tino is the key card on this deck as it mostly the best round 1 card if your playing first. Succeeding round will depend on the outcome of the first round to which you played Tino. Oscar and Gianfranco will be the deck best blocker for big powered characters. Filomena, Sharon and Veccio provides enough damage power to finish any match. Spiaghi is the decks best damage reducton card. Donnie provides the solution to most of the opposing damage reduction card.

New Predators: New Characters Released

The Skeelz academy opens its doors mid-semester to welcome two new killer students. What with Drake’s flames and Belgosi’s fangs, recess will never be the same again! Meanwhile the Pussycats turn to Selina to make her Mark on their patch, and the Piranas take their chances with Puff, hoping he’ll be a breath of fresh air in the clan.

BELGOSI

Review: Belgosi is a welcome addition to the Skeelz clan. As a 4-star card he is a nice alternative to Jay. He has a similar GHEIST's Rolph and Montana's Fabio just to name a few.

DRAKE

Review: Another great addition to the Skeelz clan. Drake provides the user another alternative to 3-star group to which is already crowded with good cards.

PUFF

Review: The Piranas as of late has added more good cards on lower star group. Puff has similar abilities with Montana's Oscar and Jungo's Buba. As a 2-star he is flexible enough to be fitted on any deck needing a "wall" card.

SELINA

Review: The PussyCat clan has been loaded with good 5-star cards and this one is no exception. Unlike the other 5-star cards, Selina is also a good bluff card as her ability can force opponents either to pill up.

How to win using the Junkz clan in Urban Rivals

Playing Urban Rivals for almost a year now, I have already developed a number of strategies involving a number of clans in the game. Today I will be discussing one of the popular clans in UR: The Junkz clan.

Because they're not as used as say the Uppers or the Montana clans, it doesn't necessarily mean the Junkz clan is inferior. In fact, with great practice, I think the Junkz is a formidable clan with a few legendary cards up their sleeve.

Just judging by their monicker, the Junkz are not at all "junk". Mostly, the Junkz are based on popular culture art-wise. Game-wise, they have a simple clan bonus of Attack + 8, which is similar to the police force clan: the Sentinels. I think the Junkz are underestimated because of this seemingly weak bonus. I have to disagree. For me, it's this bonus which spells doom to the opponents. People would see Junkz and laugh at their weakness but they will end up crying after losing to this underrated clan.

Buccaneers - Mono Piranas ELO deck

This week's ELO tournament is basically in a conventional mood as the list of banned cards are those typical banned from the previous weeks' ELO tournament as seen on my previous post.

With that in mind I decided to create another Type 1 / ELO deck since my last deck has been loosing a lot of matches on ELO meta. My new deck is a mono-Piranas deck which I called "Buccaneers".

The deck is composed of staple cards like Tula, Tyd and Hawkins with power cards like Bloodh, Scubb and Kristin while Ulrich and Spycee are the decks' utility cards.

Update List of Banned Card for ELO Tournament

Urban Rivals ELO ban list

This week's ELO ban list is not as many as the previous weeks but the list includes some of those typically voted by the players as well as the staff of Urban Rivals. Cards like GHEIST foursome of Leviatonn, Bristone, Toro and Rolph, Sakrohm's Uranus and Sigma to name a few. Over all the ELO tournament this week is a bit loose and player can now use the power decks that rule the previous ELO tournaments.

New Characters Released: Animal Instincts

As their ultra-advanced technology has not been enough to bring the clans of Clint City to their knees, the Vortex has adopted a new strategy by unleashing Krung, a ferocious wild animal onto the city’s streets. He’s accompanied by Drorb, an effective and very discreet spy. Meanwhile the Freaks welcome a new star in the shape of Pyro, while down with the Jungo, Rodney’s getting started on his bowling career.
