The bluff is usually an important part of any card game known to man and this includes Urban Rivals. It will probably take a player years to master the fine "art" of bluffing but in Urban Rivals, you are given the chance to learn and master how to bluff early on in the game. In this guide, I will teach you how to bluff, which instances the bluff is applicable, and like the title said, why bluffing is important in Urban Rivals.
How to Bluff:
Frankly, there are a hundred ways to bluff in any game, but in Urban Rivals it can be simplified into two: pilling up and not pilling up. The all important pillz is the "energy" element in this card game. Your opponent is sure to keep track of the amount of pillz you use up in one round, so it can be pretty hard for you to bluff midway through the game.
Knowing how to bluff can take a toll on your own mind and nerves, after all, there's a time limit in each of your moves so you have to be quick and decisive. Second, after you draw the 4 cards you will be using, you must already form a strategy in your head and that includes bluffing. Planning beforehand is a crucial step in deciding who will win a match. If you bluff in the worst possible time, then it will be game over for you even if the whole match is just beginning. Which leads us to the next step...
Choosing the Instances where "The Bluff" is Applicable:
There are some points in the game which a great bluff is badly required. One is when you are about to win the match with two moves left but the odds are almost equal. This is an optimal time to bluff because your opponent will have to second-guess you if you're the type who attacks fervently or if you're a "Careful Carl". Always have two or three cards in your deck which have two types of play. Cards like Vermyn N and Marina are prime examples of this.
Sometimes, bluffing can be a bad thing too. If you already have a good draw, then don't try bluffing anymore. Play it as straightforward as possible and don't take unnecessary risks. On the other hand, if it's so obvious that you will bluff, you should also reconsider. Again, based on my own experience, the bluff that are less likely to be "called" are those cards which have dual purposes. Take advantage of those cards.
Why Is Bluffing Important Anyway?
Bluffing can break or make your game. It is undeniably clear that many deck strategies rely on a good bluff every once in a while. There's little to no harm in trying to bluff especially if the stakes are quite high. In fact, I say that because more often than not your opponents will always underestimate you. It's time to show those high-level players that even if you're new to this game, Bluffing is a universal strategy and you can put it to good use! With that said, just don't let them call your bluff and you're good to go.
